You see a small piece of rope hanging from your sleeve, you try to "Flick" it out of the way, you then attempt to pull it out, but it gets longer and longer, & no end seems to be in sight! A fantastic routine for children's entertainers, originated by Ian Adair, the wooden props for this effect comprise of a cut out crown with a large jewel, and a safe. In Ian Adair's routine the crown is covered with a cloth.

The magician states that the Queen owns a very valuable crown and in its center is avery valuable jewel. He further states that when the Queen is not wearing her crown she asks for the priceless jewel to be removed and placed inside the special security safe. He opens, first the first door to the safe, it's not there. He opens the second door and points as if it is there, but it isn't. The priceless jewel has gone missing. Then he uncovers the crown to show that the jewel is there, set in the center of the crown. He removes the jewel, pokes his fingers through the big gap and recovers the crown. He places the jewel inside one of the compartments of the two-doored case (which resembles a safe!) closing the door.

Here the jewel apparently vanishes (having been robbed from the safe!) all the usual tipping from one side to the other takes place, (ala the Die Box) the children all scream & shout the jewel has gone. Each door, one at a time being opened, then finally both doors are opened.

Where can it be? the magician rushes over to the silk covered crown, whips the silk off, but it is not there either. He covers it again, gets the children to shout out the magic words etc. and yes, when revealed, it's back in position, set in the center of the crown! (you don't have to cover it, you can have the Jewel re-appear visibly if you prefer)

Fantastic Sucker Effect!

A model of the popular Jack Hughes' sucker effect,
where a Jumbo Queen is vanished between two plaques resting on a draped tray.
The audience first learn how it is done with a backstage view, then you fool them all over again!

The props supplied are attractively made in acrylic, complete with tray, plaques, and card.
You can perform this with any Jumbo Card other than the one supplied. A classic effect thats easy to do.

An inverted "U" shaped two wall red panel (houlette) with a hole in the center is shown on the stand.

A ribbon is threaded through the hole, & drapes either side. An inverted single "U" shaped yellow plate with a hole in the center is introduced. The yellow plate is dropped inside the panel through the slit provided at the top, this pushes the ribbon to the bottom. The hole of the plate matches with the hole of the yellow panel.The ends of the ribbon are pulled to the top from either side, because the yellow plate is on top of the ribbon the plate will appear over the top edge of the houlette, the ribbon is underneath, & you can see the empty hole at the top, the ends of the ribbon are released, the plate drops down, now when withdrawn the ribbon is found threaded into the hole of the yellow plate!!! The plate & ribbon can both be examined!!!

This is fabulous, I fooled myself with this one! it's easy to do, very colourful, & very well made in acrylic.

The kids are shown a plain white van. "This is Dan's Magic Van in which he carries all his magic props" says the magician.The white van is passed through the Drive-Through Paint Shop. When it comes out the other end however it is now painted blue! The kids realise that all you did was turn the Paint Shop around and they are seeing the opposite side of the van! The kids will scream for you to show the other side of the van and when you do it is seen to be painted in a rainbow of colours, complete with Magic Dan's name across the front!!!

The performer shows a small board with three large red spots on it. In an instant the spots change to red, orange and green.This trick works on an entirely new principle. There are no shells, or flap cards. The change can be performed instantaneously and visibly. The large spots cover the entire panel, and there seems to be no space for any other coloured spots to be concealed anywhere.The apparatus supplied is self contained and ready to work.
You can perform this as a simple colour change. The apparatus is designed to simulate a set of traffic lights. Show the board with three red "lights", as you tell the audience you took a short cut to the show, and found yourself at a dead end. You did not want to be late, so you snapped your fingers, and the lights change magically to a regular traffic light, and the way open so you could make it to the show on time!
You could use two of these Colour Changing Traffic Lights with two envelopes, to perform a Passe Passe type effect. Board with three red spots placed on one side, board with three different coloured spots placed on opposite side instantly change places. Effect could be repeated enough as you wish. Since the change is under your control, you could always prove the audience wrong, regardless of where they say the respective spots are.
The apparatus is very easy to use, and with a little effect you could build it into a presentation for "your kind of magic".

What a baffler this is! A clear plastic tube with metallic stripes is shown ALL AROUND and is seen to have one silk inside. Tube is placed on its wooden base and covered with an empty rainbow colored tube. The silk is removed and vanished. The clear tube is shown to be empty and covered. Performer offers to reveal a selected card, or lose his "performer's licence". He fails to name the card, so he pulls out his Insurance Policy for just such an accidental eventuality. Reading out the terms of the policy (which contains some very funny gags!)he opens it up to reveal another card, but he's still wrong! Policy is unfolded again - another card, and still WRONG! Finally he opens out the complete policy, and it displays a GIANT replica of the selected card!
